All That Jazz Big Band started in 1985 as a rehearsal band in a Middleton basement. With every dance or concert, ATJ proves what its members have learned in rehearsal – there is no better way to experience the Big Band sound than a live performance!
ATJ is a regular feature at the Madison Art Fair on the Square and Tunes at the Monona Terrace, has opened shows for Rockapella and Tom Wopat, and recently gained national exposure on the CBS Early Show. The band has also begun an outreach program for the “next generation” of Jazz musicians, and has performed with and for students in Evansville, McFarland, Mt. Horeb, Spring Green, Verona, and Waunakee, WI.
In 1976 Paul graduated from Concordia College, River Forest, Illinois and was hired as a Director of Bands for Luther North High School in Chicago. In 1980 he and Ruth moved to the Madison, Wisconsin area to start his fund raising business.

He is a featured soloist and ensemble member on two All That Jazz Big Band CDs, and with his wife and brothers, recorded two instrumental Christmas CDs. He served as the Trumpet Section Leader for the Wisconsin Ambassadors of Music 2000, 2004, and 2006 European Tours.
