Twist & Shout is a “soundalike” Beatles Tribute band. We don’t do the phony British accents or “wear hair.” Instead, we use authentic Rickenbacker, Gretsch and Hofner guitars and VOX amps, along with Ludwig drums, and focus on the tight harmonies that made the Beatles music so great. We’ll also tell you lots of insights to the Beatles and their recordings, along with great trivia, during a show. Keyboardist Bob Dobro adds all the many sounds the Beatles came up with in the studio, so we can do the entire Beatles catalog, many of which never were performed on stage.
The group was founded in 2000 and is based in Chicago, where they have performed at area clubs, concert series, and summerfests as well as venues like Navy Pier, White Sox Park, SoxFest.
The Flat Cats, based in Chicago, IL, play a range of vintage and modern music rooted in the hottest swinging jazz and blues, contemporary classics, and timeless standards. The group chooses a variety of music from classic to rock and from all around the world. It’s all about making music and having fun doing so.

We will feature young artists from the community, students who exhibit talent with their perspective instruments, either piano or string. Our performances run a 40 minute first half, with a 15 minute intermission, followed by a 30 minute second half.

All That Jazz Big Band started in 1985 as a rehearsal band in a Middleton basement. With every dance or concert, ATJ proves what its members have learned in rehearsal – there is no better way to experience the Big Band sound than a live performance!
ATJ is a regular feature at the Madison Art Fair on the Square and Tunes at the Monona Terrace, has opened shows for Rockapella and Tom Wopat, and recently gained national exposure on the CBS Early Show. The band has also begun an outreach program for the “next generation” of Jazz musicians, and has performed with and for students in Evansville, McFarland, Mt. Horeb, Spring Green, Verona, and Waunakee, WI.
In 1976 Paul graduated from Concordia College, River Forest, Illinois and was hired as a Director of Bands for Luther North High School in Chicago. In 1980 he and Ruth moved to the Madison, Wisconsin area to start his fund raising business.
Paul has performed with various brass ensembles, orchestras, and bands in the Madison area. He is a featured soloist and ensemble member on two All That Jazz Big Band CDs, and with his wife and brothers, recorded two instrumental Christmas CDs.
